Coach Boyd was named head coach in April 2024.
Coach Boyd is beginning his 5th year coaching baseball at Olathe South. He will be the JV coach in 2024 as well as work with pitchers throughout the program.
Jeff played baseball for and graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 2011, where he was an All-State and All-Sunflower League selection in 2011 and helped the Vikings get to the state tournament. He then went on to pitch at Neosho County Community College from 2012-2013. The Neosho County baseball program made back to back NJCAA World Series appearances in 2012 and 2013. Jeff then went on to pitch and graduate from Pittsburg State University from 2014-2016. He graduated with a degree in Secondary Education – History/Government.
Coach Boyd currently coaches a 16U baseball team for the Building Champions program.
He teaches 8th grade American History at Chisholm Trail Middle School and also coaches 7th grade boys basketball and boys cross country at CST.
Coach Howard is beginning his 13th year coaching baseball at Olathe South and is currently the Varsity assistant coach. He was previously the JV head coach. He has also been an assistant football coach at South for 9 years.
Reed graduated from Washburn University with a degree in Biology. He has a Masters degree in Teaching from Baker University. He played baseball at Washburn from 2005-2007. Coach Howard is a proud graduate of Olathe South in 2005 where he played baseball and football.
Reed lives in Olathe with his wife of 11 years, Megan, and his two sons Owen(7) and Grant(6).
Coach Willard is in his 8th year of coaching baseball at Olathe South, all of which have been as the C team head coach. He has also coached football at South for 6 years. Prior to coming to South, he coached 2 years of baseball at Olathe North and 2 years of football at Blue Valley North.
Codi is a graduate of Olathe North where he played football and baseball. He has a Liberal Arts degree and played college football at Central Missouri. He is currently finishing up a teaching degree at WGU.
Codi has an 13 year old son, Kaden.
Coach Lemke is in his 5th year as the D Team baseball coach at Olathe South. He previously coached at Olathe Northwest as well as Wichita Southeast. He played baseball for and graduated from Blue Valley High School in 2010 and went on to attend Emporia State University where he played baseball and graduated with a degree in Secondary Education – Social Sciences. Coach Lemke is currently going to school for his master’s degree in educational administration. He is in his 5th year of teaching. Two years in Wichita where he also coached the Varsity and JV baseball programs at his school and the last three years at South. He teaches U.S. Government and Modern World History at South as well as coaching Freshman Football. As a coach, he wants to shape his players into being very well-rounded individuals on and off the field and will help them develop the passion and grit needed for them to be successful.
Tyler lives in Olathe with his wife, Hannah.
Coach Perkins finished his career as head coach after 19 years of coaching baseball at South, the last 17 years as head coach. He capped it off with a state champinship in 2024. He has also coached football for those 19 years which included 4 years as defensive coordinator. With Perkins as coach, the Falcons made 6 state tournament appearances including two 3rd place finishes (2012 and 2015), one state runner-up (2013), and a state title (2024).
Prior to coaching at Olathe South, Coach Perkins was an assistant at BV Northwest for 1 year. He was also a graduate assistant coach at Rockhurst University in 2005 under current head coach Gary Burns.
Josh is a graduate of Rockhurst University where he has a degree in Organismal Biology and a masters degree in Secondary Education. He played baseball at Hutchinson Community College and Rockhurst College. He is a proud alumnus of Olathe South where he played for his father, long time baseball coach Don Perkins.
Josh lives in Olathe with his beautiful family which includes his wife of 15 years Emily, 12 yr old daughter Kinley and sons Reed (9 yrs) and Jack (8 yrs).
